Awards Event Celebrates San Diego’s Elite Technology Companies on October 22

SAN DIEGO, 1 October 2010 – J5 Systems announced today that it has been selected as a finalist in the Defense/IT category for TechAmerica San Diego’s 17th Annual High Tech Awards. TechAmerica, the leading voice for the U.S. technology industry, proudly recognizes the accomplishments of regional companies every year at its annual awards ceremony. Finalists will be honored for their outstanding achievements on October 22 at the Hyatt Aventine in La Jolla.

This year, an abundant number of local San Diego companies submitted nominations for their technological or business innovation, exceptional products or services, product marketplace validation, perseverance in the face of adversity, and community involvement for consideration in 10 separate categories, including Internet/Web Commerce; Computers and Related Products; Communications Products and Services; Clean Technology; Defense/IT Service; Semiconductor, Industrial and Analytical Instrumentation; Medical Device Technology/Instrumentation; and Outstanding Emerging Growth. J5 Systems was selected as a finalist in the Defense/IT category for its expertise with Command and Control (C4ISR and C2), software development, systems engineering, multi-level security (Cross Domain Solutions), and innovation in the marketplace.

TechAmerica is extremely excited to recognize those companies that have excelled in their fields and made outstanding contributions to drive the industry forward.

J5 Systems ranks 25th out of 100 in the category of

"Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies" presented by the

San Diego Business Journal on 16 September 2010 at the
Westgate Hotel in San Diego, CA.

This was the San Diego Business Journal's seventh annual ranking and J5 Systems third consecutive year among the top 25 companies achieving a ranking.

Each of the qualifying companies generated revenues of at least $200,000 in 2007, which was the starting point for the calculations. Financial details from each company's business operations from 2007, 2008, and 2009 were reviewed in order to qualify for a ranking.

J5 Systems looks forward to participation in 2011.


J5 Systems ranks 24th on San Diego Business Journal's "Defense Contractors" List.

This ranking is printed in the 28 June 2010 issue of the San Diego Business Journal.

Defense Contractors are ranked by the number of local employees as of May 1, 2010.

This is the second time J5 Systems has made the list since commencing business in 2004.

It is a pleasure to announce that J5 Systems ranked 12th out of 100 companies in the category of "Fastest Privately Held Companies" in San Diego presented by the San Diego Business Journal last night, Thursday, 17 September at the Westgate Hotel.

Average growth rate for the top ten companies:
255 Percent
Highest revenue generator on the list:
DJO Inc., No. 9 generated $980 Million in 2008

To make the list, a company must be based locally, moreover, each candidate must be privately held and independent.  In addition, each qualifying company had to have generated revenues of at least $200,000 in 2006, which was the starting point for the SDBJ calculations of financial information including business operations in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
What an achievement to be ranked with Indus Technology Inc., SGIS, Technology Integration Group, ESET, LLC,  DJO Inc. and Ambit Biosciences just to mention a few.
